DVM, Practice Limited to Emergency/Critical Care
Dr. Margaret Thies has worked in small animal veterinary hospitals since the year 2000. She graduated from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine in 2011, completed a rotating internship at Veterinary Specialty Center in Seattle, Washington and followed up by pursuing a second internship in emergency and critical care at the Massachusetts Veterinary Referral Hospital. Dr. Thies then began a residency in her chosen specialty, at Angell Animal Medical Center in Boston. In 2016, after completing this very impressive list of educational challenges, Maggie returned to the state of Maryland: the place she grew up.
Dr. Thies’ areas of special interest include mechanical ventilation, toxicities, pain management and trauma. When she is not at work, she enjoys spending time with her “motley crew” of rescued animals (including dogs, cats, and Petey the Parakeet). She loves to read and treasures her time outdoors, hiking and biking.
