Clela has loved animals since she was a child. Growing up, her pets included Charlie, a Lab mix, an albino corn snake, she named Mr. Pinky, and Herm, a Russian tortoise. To continue working with animals, Clela joined the local Petco in Morgantown, WV as a part-time associate. She acquired her Basset Hound puppy, Buddy, during that time, fostered many cats (including several nursing litters), and rescued Clyde, a stray yellow tabby. After receiving her BA in Communication Studies from West Virginia University, Clela returned home to Frederick, MD, and transferred to Petco in Leesburg, VA. She became the General Manager of the Leesburg Petco in 2014 and developed a successful, well-run business.
Clela became interested in being more involved in the care of animals, and joined VCA VRA this spring, as the Communications Director. She is enjoying the challenge of working in a fast-paced, friendly environment where the focus is excellent service and quality animal care.
In her free time, Clela’s interests include motorcycling, experiencing many of the healthy and exotic restaurants in the area, and enjoying time spent with her friends and family (both two and four legged).

Rob Nicholson is Maintenance Supervisor with VCA Veterinary Referral Associates. Rob started his employment at VCA/VRA in August 2003 when it was still located in the world famous, 100 year old dairy barn. His office and shop were located in the loft of the barn so he earned the nickname Barn Owl. He’s still referred to as such by long-time employees of VCA/VRA. Rob trained under the building engineers at Federal Realty Investment Trust, an owner of many properties in the area. Although the veterinary hospital field was new to him at the time, Rob fit right in and never looked back. His job includes maintaining all aspects of building equipment such as lights, plumbing, heating/cooling and many other repairs. Basically, whatever it takes to keep the hospital running.
Rob has many interests outside of VCA/VRA. Some of which include hiking, biking and fishing. He also love to vacation at his mountain cabin in Virginia where he enjoys tubing, hiking and hunting for caves.
Rob is an animal lover and adopted two dogs from VCA/VRA. His handsome Jack Russell terrier named Broozer and his French-fry loving, beautiful Jack Russell/Beagle mix named Piper. Although he doesn’t work directly with the animals in the hospital, Rob does feel like he keeps the facility in a condition that allows for a healthy stay for the animals.
