Dr. Lindsay Vega was raised in the small town of Smithsburg, Maryland. She received her Bachelor of Animal and Poultry Science at Virginia Tech in 2012 and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in May 2015. Dr. Vega is a valued member of our Emergency and Critical Care Department and may ultimately consider doing a residency in this very important specialty.
On her days off, Lindsay actively participates in the transport of animals from high kill shelters to rescues. In fact, she led and continues to be integrally involved in the effort to change the life of our in-house foster dog. Do consult the VCA VRA Facebook page for more exciting information about Olympia’s exciting transformation.
Dr. Vega lives with her Tree Walking Coonhound, Jillian, a foster failure whom she adopted while in veterinary school. When she is not concentrated on animal medicine and rescue efforts, Lindsay enjoys hiking, other outdoor pastimes and being with her family.
